What if you could bring customers back to your website if they haven't made a purchase? With re-marketing, you can do just that. Remarketing (or retargeting) uses cookie or IP based methods to present online ads to your prospects when they visit other websites that show ads. The conversion rate on re-marketing can be as high as 5-10% since the people who see your ad have already visited your site. Re-marketing is also a great way to brand your product with a low budget, since it reinforces your site in the viewer's mind, even if they do not click on your site for a certain amount of time.
Online re-marketing is also useful for enterprise level clients who want to specifically target segments of site users who have gotten to a certain part of their website. For instance, if a person got to the checkout page on a site, but did not make a purchase, a special offer may entice them back. Google Adwords is launching a remarketing beta through ad agencies, and is expected to release it to consumers as a DIY application later this year.
